IPRC Karongi celebrates the accomplishments of its graduates at the RP Seventh Graduation Ceremony
Kigali on May 9th, 2024: IPRC Karongi celebrated the accomplishments of its 215 students, comprising 71 females and 144 males, who were awarded Advanced Diploma Certificates during the seventh Graduation ceremony of the Rwanda Polytechnic, held at the distinguished BK Arena.
These graduates are distributed across six fields of studies such as Automobile Technology, Electrical Technology, Food and Beverage Operations, Information Technology, Manufacturing Technology and Room Division Management.

For the inaugural occasion, Rwanda Polytechnic bestowed Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) certificates to 72 graduands who have fulfilled the academic requirements in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering from IPRC Kigali and IPRC Huye, respectively.
The Right Honorable Prime Minister, Dr. Ngirente, who graced the ceremony as the Guest of Honor, conveyed to the graduates that alongside the B-Tech program, the Government of Rwanda is poised to introduce the Masters of Technology (M-Tech) program.
He said, “I am pleased to share with you some good news that the Government of Rwanda is making preparations for the introduction of a Masters of Technology (M-Tech) program. This program will provide an opportunity for those who successfully complete the B-Tech program to further their studies in M-Tech.”
“These efforts are an integral part of the Qualification Framework, and we want to assure you that they are being expedited, much like the process we undertook for the B-Tech program, which has yielded successful outcomes, as we witnessed today,” added the Prime Minister.
The Honorable Prime Minister also informed the participants that the Government of Rwanda is committed to extending B-Tech programs to all RP Colleges across the country by the next Academic Year.
In her opening address, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo, the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, extended a warm welcome to all attendees of the RP 7th Graduation ceremony, while also recognizing the exceptional efforts of the graduands that have led to the significance of this momentous occasion.
She urged the graduands to make good use of skills and competencies they gained from Rwanda Polytechnic. "You are now entering into another exciting phase of your life, you can confidently apply the acquired skills and competencies to solve the challenges and contribute to the growth and development of your families and communities,” said the Vice Chancellor.
She added, “To all of you, let your good attitude, productivity, strive for excellence, integrity, creativity and your sense of team work which I believe our learning environment prepared you to, define you as you lead dignified lives.”
In total, at the 7th Graduation ceremony, Rwanda Polytechnic conferred Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas upon 3024 graduands, with 29.2% being female and 70.8% male from all eight of its colleges across the nation, namely IPRC Gishari, IPRC Huye, IPRC Karongi, IPRC Kigali, IPRC Kitabi, IPRC Musanze, IPRC Ngoma, and IPRC Tumba.
Right Honorable Prime Minister, Dr. Edouard Ngirente graced the RP 7th Graduation ceremony as the Guest of Honor.
The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo urged the graduates to effectively use skills and competencies they gained from RP.
For the first time ever, RP conferred Bacheclor of Technology (B-Tech) certificates.
