IPRC Karongi celebrates the International Labour Day 2024

Karongi, on 15th May 2024: IPRC Karongi employees celebrated the International Labour Day 2024 with a theme “30 years: Fostering Youth-Led Employment”.

The day was characterized by a variety of activities, including football and volleyball matches among the staff, a public talk centered on this year's theme, as well as the selection and recognition of the best professional and ethical employee of the year 2023/2024.

In her address to the staff, Mrs. Dominique Ingabire, the Principal of IPRC Karongi, acknowledged and commended all members of the staff for their unwavering dedication and concerted efforts towards achieving the institution's collective objectives. She also expressed appreciation for maintaining a harmonious and productive work environment.

Mr. Gaspard Kubwimana, the Director of Administration and Finance, who delivered a public address, articulated that in the three decades following the genocide against the Tutsi, the Government of Rwanda implemented several policies aimed at fostering employment opportunities. These initiatives primarily revolved around fostering partnerships with the private sector and investors to bolster job creation endeavors.

“The Government of Rwanda remains committed to fostering an environment conducive to youth entrepreneurship within the private sector. It will continue its efforts to support young entrepreneurs, facilitating their ability to establish enterprises and generate employment opportunities for their peers,” said Gaspard Kubwimana.

The Director of Administration and Finance additionally briefed the employees on the importance of upholding values and professional ethics as a means to advance employment objectives and fulfill the institution's mission.

During the Labour Day 2024 celebration, the staff selected the most exemplary professional and ethically-minded employee of the year. Mrs. Clenie Mukashyaka, the Public Relations and Communication Officer, emerged as the recipient of this prestigious accolade for the year 2023/2024.

Expressing her feelings, Mrs. Clenie Mukashyaka conveyed her gratitude and appreciation for being acknowledged as the best employee of the year 2023/2024. She said, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Management and all colleagues for nominating me as the best employee of the year.”

“I am truly humbled by this recognition, which not only inspires me but also serves as an encouragement for all, especially the female members of our institution,” added Clenie Mukashyaka.

Annually, Rwanda celebrates the International Labour Day alongside the global community. This occasion serves as a reflection for both employees and employers to acknowledge accomplishments in advancing quality employment opportunities, while also identifying areas for ongoing improvement in pursuit of sustainable development goals.

The Principal of IPRC Karongi acknowledged all staff contribution in achieving institution's goals.The Director of Administration and Finance delivered a public address centered on the theme of this year.

Mr. Rudaharana Antoine, the Corporate Services Division Manager presented recognition certificate to the Best Employee.

The day commenced with recreational activities among administrative and teaching staff.

The staff exhibited great enthusiasm and camaraderie as they wholeheartedly supported the participating teams.
