IPRC Karongi holds a workshop to engage stakeholders for the development of Agri-tourism STIC Project
From Monday, the 18th July to Tuesday, the 19th July, 2022, IPRC Karongi held a two-day workshop of Stakeholders’ engagement for the development of Service Training and Innovation Centre (STIC) project of IPRC Karongi.
The project is financed by Sustaining Education for Agriculture Development in Western Rwanda (SEAD West) project, and implemented by IPRC Karongi in close collaboration with Holland Greentech.
The workshop aimed at discussing progress of the project activities, which are being implemented at IPRC Karongi Nyamishaba Campus, include construction works of green houses, dam sheet for irrigation purpose, coffee shop, safari tents, and plant and soil laboratory.
In her remarks, Mrs. Dominique Ingabire, the Principal of IPRC Karongi in short told the participants about the project. She said, “Agritourism STIC Project started in 2020 as a part of SEAD West project which started in March, 2019. SEAD West project is implemented in three districts namely Karongi, Ngorero and Rutsiro with IPRC Karongi, Gisovu, Bumba and Kivumu TVET Schools.”
“This workshop has taken place in order to have a common understanding of the project, and to know the role of everyone in order to further the project,” added the Principal. At the end of the workshop, the Principal acknowledged all participants for their invaluable ideas for further development of the Agri-tourism STIC project.
The workshop brought together all partners of the project such as SEAD West, Holland Greentech, Local Government officials, Private sector practitioners, and IPRC Karongi staff.
