RP 6th Graduation Ceremony: IPRC Karongi graduates over 240 graduands

Kigali, on 31st May 2023: During the Rwanda Polytechnic 6th Graduation which was held at BK Arena, 244 graduands, include 53 females and 191 males, from IPRC Karongi were awarded Advanced Diploma Certificates. It was after successfully completing their studies in 5 programs such as Automobile Technology, Electrical Technology, Hospitality Management, Information Technology and Production & Manufacturing Technology.

In this ceremony, Rwanda Polytechnic awarded Advanced Diploma and Diploma Certificates to 2885 students, include 663 females and 2222 males, who completed their studies in different fields of studies offered from eight Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges (IPRCs) across the country.

All graduates of this class of 2023 pursued different fields namely Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Hospitality, Information and Communication Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Wildlife Management, Tourism, Forest Resources Management, Irrigation and Water Engineering, Forestry and Veterinary Technology.

The Vice Chancellor of RP, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo commended graduates on their achievements and called upon them to go out with confidence.

“We are here to celebrate you, to acknowledge the great work you have done, to honor you with warm congratulations because you have satisfied all the requirements for the awards you receive today after many years of dedication and hard work,” said the Vice Chancellor.

She added, “Today should give you the confidence to forge ahead into the next steps in your life with the good wishes of Rwanda Polytechnic.”

In her remarks, the Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Valentine Uwamariya, who was also the guest of Honour in this ceremony, congratulated the graduates on their hard work and well-earned Diploma and Advanced Diploma qualifications, and urged them to be ready to contribute to the country’s social-economic development.

“Dear graduates, you have all demonstrated a strong will, focus and discipline throughout your time at the Rwanda Polytechnic colleges, these have proved that you have what it takes to make it in whatever career paths you take after this graduation ceremony,” said Minister.

Minister also encouraged them to deduce opportunities from any challenges they will face at the job market. She said, “Rwandans expect much from you and I am sure that the skills that you acquired will meet their expectations. The world of work can be challenging, be prepared to embrace challenges and turn them into opportunities to impact the society.”

By this 6th Graduation, RP enjoyed an outstanding achievement of producing 12,184 graduates since its establishment in 2017. Rwanda Polytechnic held its maiden graduation ceremony on 28th June 2018 with 1,882 graduates.

Rwanda Polytechnic is a public higher learning institution that has a vision of offering high quality training that complies with applicable standards of technical education. RP aims at enabling its beneficiaries to acquire relevant skills for job creation as well as for successfully entering and competing in the labour market.

It has eight constituent colleges designated as ''Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges'' (IPRCs) which are: IPRC Gishari, IPRC Huye, IPRC Karongi, IPRC Kigali, IPRC Kitabi, IPRC Musanze, IPRC Ngoma, and IPRC Tumba.

Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Valentine Uwamariya urged the graduates to be ready to contribute to the country’s social-economic development.

Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo commended graduates on their achievements and called upon them to go out with confidence.

The ceremony was attended by high ranking officials.

Principals were very happy to celebrate students' achiviements.
