RP-Karongi College Receives Awards for Promoting and Disseminating Kinyarwanda Literature
At the launch of the book titled “President Kagame’s Journey to Victory, the Legacy of Leadership” which held on 1st November 2024 at Intare Conference Arena, RP Karongi College was recognized for its outstanding contribution to the promotion and dissemination of Kinyarwanda Literature.
The college was presented awards including the book titled “China and Rwanda: Effective Leadership, Transformational Governance”, a certificate of appreciation and medal.
This book, written by Richard Hategekimana, an author and chairperson of the Rwanda Writers Federation, encourages Rwandans, especially the youth, and people across Africa to embrace the knowledge and values demonstrated by President Kagame during Rwanda's liberation struggle, inspiring them to help build a stronger Rwanda and a resilient Africa.
Mr. Richard said “President Kagame endured many challenges while in exile, yet he showed integrity by leading others in intelligence work. He played a major role in the liberation struggle, and after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in every aspect, his legacy is truly remarkable,”
The Director General of the Rwanda Basic Education Board (REB), Nelson Mbarushimana, who was also the guest of honor, praised the book and committed to supporting the distribution of books on Rwanda's literature to school libraries across the country.
The launched book is part of the collection being used in the ongoing 3rd cohort competition for reading and writing in Higher Learning Institutions (2024-2025), organized by the Rwanda Writers Federation in partnership with the Panafrican Movement Rwanda Chapter.
