Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission provide their beneficiaries, trainees at IPRC Karongi with toolkits
Karongi, on September 28, 2021: Today, the Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (RDRC) provided their 28 beneficiaries, who are being trained for six months at IPRC Karongi with toolkits composed of tools used in Masonry and Welding.
The beneficiaries are pursuing a six months Vocational Training Program in two trades specifically Masonry and Welding whereby 9 of them are trained in Masonry others 19 in Welding.
In her remarks, Hon. Valerie Nyirahabineza, the chairperson of RDRC urged the beneficiaries to leverage the tools they were given today so that, once they will complete their training and go out for the labour market, they can facilitate them to make good use of the skills they will have gotten.
She commended them for they are disciplined. She also reminded them to tell the truth about Rwanda, and encourage others who remained behind to come to play their role in building the country.
She said, "I would like to thank you for your discipline, as witnessed by Reserve Force, your supervising organ, and for you did not refuse this opportunity of Vocational Training. I want you to always be grateful for H.E President Paul Kagame because all this is thanks to good governance."
"We need your support in contradicting rumours which are narrated to those people who are still in the forests outside the country refusing to put down their arms rather still want to disturb the county's security. Tell them the truth and encourage them to come back to their mother country Rwanda," added Valerie
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Government of Rwanda for receiving, reintegrating them in the Rwandan community, and enabling them to make living through Vocational Training.
The trainees are former ex-combatants of armed groups, mainly FDLR, of 65 phase as well as their children. Though all members of the phase did not manage to attend this training program, RDRC has about 250 trainees who are being trained from Polytechnic colleges and TVET schools countrywide.
