Karongi on June 1, 2021: On this Tuesday the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Administration and Finance (DVC-AF) at Rwanda Polytechnic, Dr. Aimable NSABIMANA visited IPRC Karongi.

The objective of his visit was to see the implementation progress of the project to manufacture cooking stoves (Muvelos) which will be distributed in newly constructed primary and secondary schools to reduce crowd in classes and a long distance travelled by students to and from the school.

Cooking stoves will serve in cooking for the students in the on-going School Feeding program which has to reach the primary school level, and IPRC Karongi is supposed to supply schools located in Karongi and Rutsiro Districts.

During his visit, the DVC-AF toured the workshop where cooking stoves are being manufactured, witnessed the process and produced stoves, and admired workforces as well as the coordination team for they are making production that fits quality standards.

After visiting the production ground, Dr. Aimable NSABIMANA had a meeting with the project Coordination Team and appreciated the good job they are doing and the way they are well organized.  He said, "I was impressed to see what you are doing here, keep it up."

Manufacturing Muvelos is the project of Rwanda Polytechnic through its 5 Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges (IPRCs) namely IPRC Karongi, IPRC Huye, IPRC Kigali, IPRC Ngoma and IPRC Tumba. The project is supposed to be concluded in August, 2021 as cooking stoves shall be in use starting from September this year.
