Karongi on March 31, 2021: Today, Dipl.-Ing. Paul Umukunzi, our former Deputy Principal in charge of Academics and Training (DPAT) has handed over the office to Leonard Manirambona our new DPAT.

It is the ceremony which was witnessed by the Principal of IPRC Karongi, Mrs. Dominique Ingabire. Though this would be a big event with all staff present, it was attended by a limited number of staff  complying with measures to contain COVID-19.

Paul Umukunzi, the outgoing DPAT has given the message to the attendees and wished they shall share it with other colleagues not present.

He said, "The important message that I want to give you so you shall share with other colleagues is that you should perform, with all of your hearts, strength and knowledge, any task you are given because you never know."

Paul added that it has been really a good experience to work at IPRC Karongi, and promised his continuous collaboration.

"I have learned a lot when I was here working as DPAT, the memory I still have from IPRC Karongi will keep pushing me to work harder and keep growing. As you know I am still in TVET, so we shall keep on collaborating and IPRC Karongi is still on my heart. I will play a role of an ambassador in TVET Sector, but you have also to be my ambassadors in line with TVET ," said Paul Umukunzi.

Leonard Manirambona who took over the Office of DPAT has promised to give whatever it requires to advance the institution. He said, "I am grateful for being in this IPRC Karongi family, I pledge my contribution, and call upon everybody to be supportive towards the better future of IPRC Karongi."

The staff present have expressed their feelings and appreciated the outgoing DPAT for all they have learned from him as a hard-worker, wise, good leader, good listener, good technician and humble man. They all witnessed that he leaves them a lot of inspirations, and suggested him to remain who he is as he get promoted.

In her remarks, the Principal has thanked the out-going DPAT for the service he rendered when he was at IPRC Karongi.

"We appreciate the far end you have reached for bringing various projects. Thank you and all success in your new responsibilities, we are here for any support and we shall keep on good collaboration," said the Principal.

Paul Umukunzi who handed over the office is the current Director General of Rwanda TVET Board appointed by the cabinet on 14th December, 2020 whereas Leonard Manirambona who took over the office is our DPAT from 19th February, 2021, and before joining IPRC Karongi he was the Acting Division Manager of TVET Assessment Division at Rwanda Polytechnic.
