The Management holds a meeting with final year students
Karongi on October 28, 2020: This afternoon, the Management of IPRC Karongi has held a meeting with all final year students and academic staff (Teaching and Administrative) at Nyamishaba Campus.
The purpose of the meeting was to welcome the students back to school, brief them on how they should act to accomplish their studies within the determined period on their reopening calendar.
The meeting was also to remind and urge the students to keep on adhering to health measures established by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Ministry of Health as well as internal precautious rules and regulations put in place to prevent COVID-19 among IPRC Karongi students and staff.
In his remarks Dipl.-Ing. Paul UMUKUNZI, the Deputy Principal in charge of Academics and Training and who was the chair of the meeting told the students that nowadays they have various opportunities which they should leverage appropriately.
“Today, you young people have many chances, but your thinking and mindsets show you do not make good use of them. You have many facilities that you do not use,” the Deputy Principal addressed the students.He also told them that they should change their mindset and work hard as it is in their own interest. He said, “Change your mindset, set your goals so that whatever you do, you do it targeting what you want to achieve in future.”
The students were also reminded to keep on visiting Rwanda Polytechnic e-learning platform and continue learning online because even though they are on campus, studying online continues as the country is looking for a way to enhance distance learning.
“We know that some of you had challenges such as internet connectivity, lack of electricity etc. which affected smooth online learning, but all those are over as you are here in the campus with internet and electricity,” said the Deputy Principal.
There has been a time for students to ask many questions in connection with their social problems which may affect their studies in one way or another, and the management provides effective responses.
