The Rwanda Polytechnic Vice Chancellor calls on IPRC Karongi
Karongi on April 22, 2021: Today, the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, Dr. James GASHUMBA together with the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Training, Institutional Development and Research, Dr. Sylvie MUCYO visited IPRC Karongi.
The visit purpose was to get an impression of the physical facilities and the atmosphere of the college and see the training, innovation and research environment.
It was also for meeting heads of departments and directors based at the college and discuss their experiences and strategic expectations in line with TVET sector and Rwanda Polytechnic management.
Guided by IPRC Karongi team, the visitors toured IPRC Karongi facilities available in Nyamishaba and the Main Campuses whereby they visited ICT Computer Labs, Students Hostels, Libraries, Classrooms and various training workshops.
Touring different workshops, the visitors were impressed by various innovative projects ran by students facilitated by their trainers, and encouraged innovators to keep up the spirit of innovation.
The Vice Chancellor and DVC-TIDR had a time to discuss with Directors and Heads of Departments. In the meeting, the Principal of IPRC Karongi delivered a brief presentation showing the status of IPRC Karongi, achievements, challenges and future plans, and the staff present expressed their suggestions towards TVET sector.
In her remarks, Sylvie MUCYO, the DVC-TIDR told the participants the purpose of the visit. She said, "We have come here to hear from you, and exchange to know your expectations, what we want to achieve and what transformation we want to bring."
Delivering his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor appreciated IPRC Karongi management for efforts made so far and promised to work closely in response to identified challenges. "Most impressive initiatives, keep up the good effort. We shall support you all the way," Vice Chancellor's message in Visitors' Book.
Beside IPRC Karongi, Rwanda Polytechnic Senior Officials are visiting all Rwanda Polytechnic-Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges-IPRCs with common objectives.
