On this 13^th September, 2022, the Minister of State in charge of ICT & TVET, Hon. Claudette Irere together with the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, Dr. Sylvie Mucyo visited IPRC Karongi.

The Minister of State had a meeting with the college management, members of students union and heads of units and departments. They discussed academic affairs, students welfare, challenges and possible solutions.

In her welcome remarks, the Vice Chancellor Dr. Sylvie Mucyo introduced and told the participants the main objective of the visit. She said, “You have been blessed to receive Hon. Claudette Irere who was come to interact with you about teaching and learning as well as your lifestyle in IPRC Karongi.”

The Minister of State said that it was worth coming back to IPRC Karongi. “It has been so long since I came here last year, eventhough I did not have a time to converse with you especially about studies, teaching & learning and status of the college environment.”

“Though this kind of visit can’t be every day, but it should at least be once or twice a year so that people can sit, discuss, and find solutions which, in one way or another, can take the institution to a higher level,” said Hon. Claudette Irere.

With the presentation, the Principal of IPRC Karongi Mrs. Dominique Ingabire demonstrated the college programmes, teaching staff and approach for lecturing delivery, challenges and proposed solutions.

The visit was an occasion not only for the college management, but also for the students to convey their challenges, recommendations and potential solutions to the Minister and the Vice Chancellor. The latter promised to keep in touch and provide possible support for achieving the institution’s mandate.
