Karongi on March 11, 2021: Today, the Principal of IPRC Karongi, Mrs. Dominique INGABIRE has received Mr. Charles Pouliot, the Swisscontact Country Director for Rwanda, Burundi and DR Congo.

This visit was for discussing the partnership achievements, ongoing and planned activities to accomplish before closing Promoting Market Oriented Skills Training-PROMOST Project in the Great Lakes Region.

Through PROMOST Project, both parties have jointly achieved a lot include constructing and equipping 6 TVET Schools based in the Western Province, conducting Training of Trainers (ToTs) and Capacity building for administrative staff especially School managers, District Directors of Education etc.

The parties have also worked on the project of Smart Solar Water Heater Equipped with an Automatic Metering & Billing System whereby produced panels were provided to some of hotels located in Karongi District.

Mr. Charles Pouliot has appreciated IPRC Karongi's role and strive for achieving partnership goals, and suggested that they should reinforce joined efforts so that they can successfully round out the project by the end of next year.

The Principal has acknowledged the visit of the Country Director and Swisscontact support at large. She said, "We do appreciate what was done by Swisscontact in terms of building TVET Schools and equipping workshops as well as providing technical expertise wherever it was really required."

Swisscontact is IPRC Karongi partner since 2014. They have been working hand in hand through PROMOST project to be closed by the end of 2022. Though the project is being phased out, both parties look forward to continuing working together in other projects under Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
