The Vice Chancellor welcomes 1st year students in Academic Year 2024-2025

On 21st August 2024, the Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic visited RP-Karongi College to welcome first-year students and discuss with them the significance of Foundation program they are undertaking.

Interacting with the Vice Chancellor, the students highlighted what they have learned from the program so far.

Angela Umutoni, a student in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) stated, “We have learned many things since starting this program, including problem-solving, time management, planning our daily routines, and giving and receiving feedback, among other skills.”

In her address, the Vice Chancellor welcomed the new students and encourage them to leverage the skills from foundation program. She said, “I want to welcome you to Rwanda Polytechnic community. I want you to know that you have the potential, that is why you are here, and I want you to capitalize on that by really getting the most out of this program.”

The Vice Chancellor added that the foundation program will support students throughout their studies and even in the job market. “This program will benefit you throughout your studies, all the way until you finish your third year or apply for the B-Tech program. It truly prepares you for work, whether as a business owner or an employee.”

The foundation program is designed to cultivate essential soft skills, improve English language proficiency, and foster civic responsibility, preparing students for academic excellence and future professional success.
